Specializing in rehabilitation through Pilates
The exercise method created to reduce stress and align the body.
Pilates was initially developed as a rehabilitative tool by German gymnast, Joseph Pilates. He dedicated his life to teaching his Classic Method, believing that poor posture goes hand-in-hand with poor health. He taught that by having awareness of breath and of alignment of the spine, we can strengthen the deep torso and abdominal muscles, thereby reducing stress.
Janie Jennings brings that same teaching to Wilson, NC.
JANIE JENNINGS
A certified Pilates and yoga instructor — and a former dance teacher — Janie’s love for Pilates began while exploring options for pain management after being diagnosed with arthritis. Her personal experience with movement as a tool for healing inspired her to help others find strength, mobility, and ease in their own bodies.
Janie studied at the Pilates Certification Center and Pilates of North Carolina, earning her comprehensive certification and continuing her education through ongoing workshops and advanced training. She specializes in using Pilates for rehabilitation, focusing on safe, effective movement to support recovery, manage pain, and improve functional strength.
At Janie Jennings Pilates, she works exclusively with individuals and small groups, ensuring that each person receives personalized attention and instruction tailored to how their body feels that day. Janie’s teaching is guided by compassion, precision, and a deep belief that movement has the power to transform both body and mind.
